It is hard to remember a time in my life when I was not invested in sports. I tried almost every sport my parents offered me: football, baseball, soccer, lacrosse, and basketball. As a kid, I used athletic performance to try and find acceptance among my peers. Then I found freedom when I was introduced to the God of the Bible at a Christian summer camp for music. I received a message at the camp’s chapel about how God loves me and created me, and that is when I started to fall in love with God. As I grew in my faith, I focused less on finding acceptance through athletics and focused more on accepting who I already was in Christ. My identity was no longer in being an athlete but instead in being a child of God.

I first discovered FCA at Roberts Wesleyan University when I was an athlete for the cross country and track program. I went from attending a few events on campus to attending huddles every week. As an Area Representative for the Greater Rochester area, it is a blessing to work alongside athletes, encouraging them in their sport and bringing the love of Jesus into their lives. I am excited to see God work in the community through this ministry!
